Space technology to boost Africa Water Vision 2025

The Africa Water Vision 2025 will be accelerated by a space technology option which is initiated by the European Space Agency, according to a report of the second TIGER Workshop recently concluded in South Africa at the invitation of the South African government.

Green Revolution Experts call for careful utilization of Africa's soil

This Issues paper summarizes and reviews the mix of policy actions - both on the domestic and international fronts - necessary to mainstream trade in national development strategies. A two-day workshop on water/geo information organized by ECA on behalf of UN-Water/Africa and involving 20 participants from seven African countries, opened today in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

African Ministers responsible for population and development have reaffirmed their strong commitment to the Programme of Action adopted ten years ago at the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), stressing that the Millennium Development Goals could not be achieved unless the programme was fully implemented.

A three-day brainstorming session by the Academia Research Network (ARN) on the Information Society opened today in Addis Ababa at ECA’s Development Information Services Division (DISD). The meeting aims to consider research topics that could enhance the development of the African Information Society and establish conditions to launch sub-regional networks of ARN.
