CHGA Interactive is an initiative of the Commission on HIV/AIDS and Governance (CHGA) to promote Civil Society Organization (CSO’s) reflection on the issues of AIDS and governance, informing civil society of the work of CHGA, and obtaining civil society inputs into CHGA’s own deliberations and recommendations. (See Concept Note) CHGA Interactive will be driven by a series of specifically organized sub-regional consultations or ‘public hearings’ (unique for a UN Commission) on the following themes: Orphans, Gender, Treatment and Care, Legal protection for PLWHA, PMTCT, Human Capacity, the Elderly, Behavior Change and Food Security. CHGA Botswana is the second in a series of five meetings planned for 2004 The meeting will centre on two key themes: (i) Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV/AIDS; and (ii) Scale-up of Treatment and Care.
