The year 2004 will mark the tenth anniversary of the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) and as mandated ECA will coordinate the preparation of Africa's input into the ICPD+10 Review. In order to update the work already done in this area during the ICPD+5 process, a Regional Evaluation Report on ICPD+10 assessing progress and constraints in implementing the Dakar/Ngor Declaration (DND) and the ICPD Programme of Action will be produced as Africa contribution to the global report on ICPD+10.

In this regard, and as a build-up to the Regional Evaluation Report on ICPD+10, a series of activities have been planned including consultations at the national, sub-regional and regional levels, the analysis of completed country questionnaires and the organization of follow-up and technical meetings. These activities will culminate in the organization of a meeting in April 2004 to endorse the Regional Evaluation Report on ICPD+10.

African countries are expected to play a key role in the coordination of the implementation of the planned activities. They will be involved in the preparation of Country Evaluation Report and the completion of the UNFPA global questionnaire and the ECA regional questionnaire on ICPD+10.
