ECA offers an internship programme for students enrolled in a degree programme in a graduate school at the time of application. The purpose of the internship programme is, a) to provide experience to these students in order to enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments, b) to expose them to the work of the United Nations and, c) to provide UN offices with the assistance of qualified students specialized in various professional fields. The normal duration of an internship is two months, which may be extended to a maximum of six months.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibilities of the interns or their sponsoring institutions.
