Introduction to the discussion from September 10-19
The role of the African
diaspora in improving Africa's competitive position in information technology
Dear List Members,
This week we'd like to have your views and advice on the potential of the African digital
diaspora to work in/with Africa in the area of information and communication technology.
By African digital diaspora, we mean
Africans now living in developed countries who by education and work
experience have acquired skills (and perhaps capital or ready access thereto) that could
be helpful in accelerating Africa's movement into the Information Age.
Some possible areas:
- what are some ways in
which this could happen?
- what examples do you have of this happening already?
- what are some particularly fruitful areas for action?
- is repatriation necessary or are back and forth solutions more useful?
Thanks for your (anticipated)
contributions.
