The
workshop was organized in collaboration with the Department
of State for Communication, Information and Technology and
the Department of State for Finance and Economic Affairs.

Objectives:
The
objectives of the workshop were:

Increasing various stakeholders’ awareness on the
African Information Society Initiative (AISI), NICI and
the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS)
-
Enhancing awareness on gender mainstreaming in the NICI
policy and plan
-
Strategizing on monitoring and evaluation of the NICI policy
as well as the development of the information society in
the country
-
Developing stakeholders’ networks and plans of action
in support of the implementation of the NICI policies and
plans
