"On Promoting the Information Society in Africa

"I am currently doing a resaerch project with Panos southern Africa on the ICT needs of journalists and later I will do an audit of the media and ICTs in Zambia and later maybe do an audit of the media and ICTs in africa. I have done a project prosal with Panos and currently waiting for replies so that we can start our research. Panos recently had a
workshop with rural journalists at which I shared my experience with ICTs. It was from there that the need to do the reaserch came about. I am also currently a doing a project with the British Council called Africawoman which is both an online and print publication.
The AISI Media Award has changed my life. It really means hard work.I am suddenly a very busy person. It has opened doors which were closed."

Brenda Zulu, Zambia

"The Award has affected the magazine (and my professional life) in many ways. As a UN ECA Award we are regarded as having won an international award, and therefore the confidence the public has in our work has increased and reaffirmed tremendously."

"the Award has positioned us as an African leading magazine in ICT, as such, we must strive to ensure we surpass the expectations of the Award organisers and more important, of the public that reposes such confidence in our work and in us. The motivation is the realisation that our effort has received global recognition and this means more work,
more commitment and renewed enthusiasm.

Mkpe Abang, IT & Telecom Digest, Nigeria
