Free Software and Open Source Foundation for Africa (FOSSFA) formed

The Free Software and Open Source Foundation for Africa (FOSSFA) was launched at a gathering of about fifty WSIS participants including government delegations, Civil Society actors, UN Agencies, and the media among others. This is was one of the outcomes of the ICT Policy and Civil Society Workshop organised by ECA, APC, and Article 19 that was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in November 2002.

New developments in NICI policies and plans - Ghana NICI policy development committee and national consultation process

 

The Association for Progressive Communications (APC), ARTICLE 19 and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) organised a five-day information and communications technology (ICT) policy and civil society workshop from November 6th to 10th, 2002 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
