NICI Policy Development Process

The project for the national strategy for the development of information and communication technologies in Burundi – “PROJET DE STRATEGIE NATIONALE DE DEVELOPPEMENT DES TECHNOLOGIES DE L’INFORMATION ET DE LA COMMUNICATION AU BURUNDI” was discussed and approved in March 2002. The document was prepared by the National Committee for Coordinating the Development of ICTs in Burundi with support from UNDP.

The areas of priority identified in Burundi’s NICI planning development process are:

  • Education

  • Public Health

  • Administration

  • Rural Sector

  • Trade and Industry

  • Legal and Regulatory Environment
