The Companhia Santomense de Telecomunicaçoes (CST) is the national telecommunications operator owned 51% by Portugal Telecommunications International (PTI). The Ministerio do Equipamento Social e Ambiente is responsible for the telecommunications sector.

ICT Networking Development

Tecnologia de Sistemas Informático is the leading enterprise of the local computer community of Sao Tome and Principe. The company is jointly administering with  Bahnhof Internet AB of Sweden, the .st Internet top-level domain registration. Bahnhof Internet AB is one of Sweden's oldest, most experienced and technically advanced Internet Service Providers.  Bahnhof Internet AB plans to link Sao Tome to its central network system in Sweden via satellite in October 1999.
