- Uganda
Connect: The
objective of the Uganda Connect project is the advancement of public education in the
country, using Information and Computer Technology (ICT), improvements in the quality and
efficiency of communications through the provision of necessary hardware and software, and
training of teachers and managers in the use of communications software.
- Internet Society: The Internet
Society assures global coordination and cooperation on the Internet, and promotes and
maintains a broad spectrum of activities focused on the Internet's development,
availability, and associated technologies in Uganda.

- The Acacia Initiative is an
international effort led by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to
empower sub-Saharan African communities with the ability to apply information and
communication technologies toward their own social and economic development. Initially,
Acacia's efforts focused primarily on four countries: Mozambique, Senegal, South Africa
and Uganda. Mutually reinforcing projects are being identified to reform policy, extend
infrastructure, address technology and usage issues, and to support the creation of
relevant applications and content.
