The United Nations Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) Task Force, the Governments of Canada and Ireland, and the UN Economic Commission for Africa launched the Global ePolicy Resource network (ePol-Net) during a press conference at the WSIS Media Centre in Geneva Palexpo. Representing the countries and institutions were: H.E. Mr. Sergio Marchi, Ambassador and Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of Canada Mr Richard Simpson, Director General, Industry Canada Mr. José-Maria Figueres Olsen, Chairman, United Nations ICT Task Force Mr. K.Y. Amoako, Executive Secretary, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa Mr Brendan Tuohy, Director General, Department of Communications, Marine and Natural Resources, Ireland The Africa Regional Node of ePol-Net was launched on May 13, 2003 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
