In collaboration with Highway Africa News Agency (HANA) and AMARC Africa, and with support from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), ECA produced online and hardcopy editions of bi-lingual daily newspaper, known as WSIS Tunis Agenda, as well as an online radio broadcasting programme. The newspaper and the radio broadcast were aiming to provide balanced rapportage on the conference and carried in-depth interviews with key stakeholders and opinion-makers on the challenges of building an information society in Africa.

About WSIS

The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) is organized around two phases. The first phase of WSIS took place in Geneva, hosted by the Government of Switzerland from 10 to 12 December 2003, where 175 countries adopted a Declaration of Principles and Plan of Action.

The second phase of WSIS took place in Tunis hosted by the Government of Tunisia from 16 to 18 November 2005. Click here for more information.
