INVITATION FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST-
PROJECT FOR STREAMLINING AND FASTTRACKING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE AFRICAN PEER REVIEW MECHANISM

The APRM Secretariat (with the kind support of the African Development Bank) is embarking on a project to streamline and fast track the implementation of the APRM. This is in furtherance of the recommendations of the APRM-UNDP African Governance Forum VI and the APRM Algiers Workshop.

The APRM Secretariat is now inviting Expressions of Interest (EOI) from consulting firms and technical research institutions from eligible source countries to undertake the project. In this regard the EOIs herein have been circulated to the Technical Research Institutions of the Fifteen Countries that have submitted their CSARs to the Panel to date-(Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Algeria, Nigeria, Uganda, Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Lesotho Mozambique and Mauritius) as well as to the Focal Points of all APRM participating countries.

The EOIs in both English and French are attached to you with a request to circulate to researchers in your networks whom you think will be interested to undertake this project.

For your information, the project entails seven inter-related components as spelt out below and elaborated in the attached EOIs.


a) Revision of the APRM Methodology and Processes [Français]

b) Revision of the APRM Assessment Questionnaire (Democracy and Political Governance) [Français]

c) Revision of the APRM Assessment Questionnaire (Economic Governance and Management) [Français]

d) Revision of the APRM Assessment Questionnaire (Corporate Governance) [Français]

e) Revision of the APRM Questionnaire (Socio-economic Development) [Français]

f) Development of an NPOA Monitoring and Evaluation Framework. [Français]

g) Elaboration of Modalities for Enhancing the Participation of Civil Society in the African Peer Review Mechanism [Français]

DATABASE OF AFRICAN EXPERTS

ECA has been providing technical and strategic support to the implementation process of the APRM. As one part of this responsibility, ECA is preparing a database of African experts specialized in the areas of good governance to assist with the identification of outstanding African experts for the APRM process.
