In 1999, the Food Security and Sustainable Development Division (FSSDD) of the ECA (with the financial support of the UNFPA) launched Africa's Population and
Development Bulletin. Its aim is to encourage the exchange and sharing of experiences among African countries in the implementation of the Dakar Ngor Declaration (DND) and the International Conference on Population and Development - Program of Action (ICPD-PA). The information in the Bulletin will cover the thematic areas included in the ICPD-PA and will provide a platform to discuss research results, policy initiatives, policy outcomes, and activities at the grassroots level.
Since Africa's Population and Development Bulletin is conceived to be a discussion platform, the FSSDD invites all interested parties to make contributions, and to suggest other topics for articles on population and development at large. Especially, researchers and NGOs are invited to report on their activities and work. The FSSDD would also appreciate being informed on recently held and upcoming events (meetings, forums, and scientific conferences) and recently published material in the population area.
