The Open University of Tanzania is presently situated in Msasani village, which is one km from Namanga shopping centre in Dar es Salaam. The University is the first single mode institution of its kind South of the Sahara, offering its degree courses through distance teaching systems. The University has adopted/adapted course materials from distance teaching institutions. It consists of four faculties and one institute. It conducts its operations through Regional Centers and 49 study centers.
