RECTAS
The REGIONAL CENTRE FOR TRAINING IN AEROSPACE SURVEYS (RECTAS) Located at the Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U) Campus, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. was established in 1972 under the auspices of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) with a mandate for Training, Research, Consultancy and Advisory Services in Geoinformatics. 
RCMRD
The Regional Centre for Mapping of Resources for Development (RCMRD), previously known as Regional Centre for Services in Surveying, Mapping and Remote Sensing (RCSSMRS) was established in Nairobi, Kenya in 1975 under the auspices of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the then Organization of African Unity (OAU).

ITC
The International Institute for Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation, established in 1950 under the name International Training Centre for Aerial Survey (hence ITC), is an autonomous organisation operating under the aegis of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Minister for Development Cooperation of the Netherlands and closely linked to Twente University. It is the oldest and largest international higher education institute in the Netherlands, and seeks to promote the sound application of geo-information technology through programmes of research, education and project services.
EIS-AFRICA
EIS-AFRICA is dedicated to the improvement in the management, analysis and application of information relevant to the environment to enrich policy debate and support decision-making relating to the process of sustainable development and increasing the well being of African people.

GSDI
The GSDI Association is an inclusive organization of organizations, agencies, firms, and individuals from around the world. The purpose of the organization is to promote international cooperation and collaboration in support of local, national and international spatial data infrastructure developments that will allow nations to better address social, economic, and environmental issues of pressing importance.
FGDC
The Federal Geographic Data Committee is a 19 member interagency committee composed of representatives from the Executive Office of the President, Cabinet-level and independent agencies. The FGDC is developing the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) in cooperation with organizations from State, local and tribal governments, the academic community, and the private sector.
