Transport

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Regional Cooperation and Integration Division, the Regional Adviser wil provide adovisory services to African countries and Inter-governmental Organizations in the field of transport as follows:

1. Formulation of transport policies for implementation of regional protocols and programmes such as UNTADCA;
2. Indentification of priority programmes and projects and preparation of bankable documents to mobilize resources for their implementation;
3. Formulation of transport and trade facilitation programmes;
4. Promotion of coordinated exchange of information on transport issues, including South-South cooperation and transfert of technology including adaptation of new technologies;
5. Organizing workshops/seminars on sector policy reforms, restruturing and enhanced private sector participation;
6. Assist countries and IGOs to identify and prepare project documents for the development of the sector;
7. Assist countries in policy and programme formulation.
