The African Trade Policy Centre (ATPC) will hold a training workshop on World Trade Organization (WTO) negotiations for African embassies based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia on Monday 27 February 2006. The workshop will inform African diplomats on the key issues under negotiation in the Doha Round and the possible impact of various outcome scenarios on African countries. Topics to be covered include Understanding Trade Negotiations, Trade and Development, Doha Round negotiations on Agriculture, Non-Agricultural Market Access, the Cotton Sector Initiative, negotiations on Services and issues of Trade Preferences and Non-Tariff Barriers. All African embassies are invited to the workshop and the provisional programme is attached.
