Finance Ministers Reiterate Commitment to Millennium Development Goals

Addis Ababa, 03 April 2008 (ECA) - African Ministers of Finance concluded their meeting in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia Wednesday with a statement reaffirming their commitment to achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) in Africa by 2015.

AU-ECA to Convene Economic Conference In Ethiopia this Month
Addis Ababa, 11 March 2008 (ECA) - The first session of the Joint Annual Meetings of the African Union (AU) Conference of Ministers of Economy and Finance and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Conference of Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia at the United Nations Conference Centre from 31 March to 2 April 2008.

Addis Ababa, 25 March 2008 (ECA) - Growth with equity has always been central to the ECA mission over the last fifty years, and it will be an important issue of discussion during the forthcoming Conference of Ministers of finance, planning and economic development, United Nations Under Secretary General and Executive Secretary of ECA, Mr. Abdoulie Janneh revealed Tuesday.
 

Media Registration
The Ethiopian Ministry of Information requires that all media representatives coming to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to cover meetings be accredited. Journalists should complete a Ministry of Information registration form (avaible on our website) and submit it with one passport size picture. If they send the form by email, they should attach passport size pictures in electronic format, preferably in JPEG format.

They should also include the list of equipment they will be bringing in with them to Addis for the conference, including serial numbers. The equipment list is critical to send to the Ethiopian Ministry of Information here so they can can bring in their equipment to work, especially television crews with professional cameras and their accessories. All television crews entering the country to cover meetings are also required to pay a fee of 1000 birr, which is approximately 105 US Dollars.
Journalists should also bring a letter of assignment from their media organization, stating that they have been assigned to cover the event.
