Lying in the heart of the Ethiopian
capital, Addis Ababa, also known as the capital city of Africa,
the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC-AA) combines architectural
elegance with the very latest technology and sheer practicality
to offer the ideal venue for all kinds of meetings. The UNCC is
located in the UN compound on Menelik Avenue just opposite the National
Palace.
The UNCC-AA is composed of 4 floors:
- the basement consists of the reproduction unit
and the technical teams
- the ground floor consists of the communication
team, clinic, media center, translation team and training center,
- the first floor is composed of all the conference
rooms, caucus rooms and offices of the Conference Coordination
Unit (CCU),
- the second floor is mainly composed of the cafeteria,
dining rooms and coffee shop.
Core activities of the Conference Coordination Unit (CCU)
- Management of all conference activities at the
UNCC and ECA conferences outside Addis Ababa
- Marketing the UNCC-AA for use by outside clients
and partners
- Provide technical and logistical support to
meetings held at the UNCC as part of the regular substantive programme
of the Commission, including in-session servicing
- Allocate conference rooms for all conferences,
meetings, workshops and seminars held at Africa Hall and at UNCC-AA
- Plan conference requirements with the Substantive
Divisions of the Commission and other UN organizations, African
Union and other International Organizations, Government of Ethiopia,
Diplomatic Missions and International Non-Governmental Organizations
- Compile statistics on meetings
