African Women Professionals Asked to Submit CVs for Compendium

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, 15 September 2009 – The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) along with the African Union (AU) are seeking curriculum vitae (CVs) from African  women professionals.

The CVs will be used to create a compendium on African Women Professionals (AWP).  The purposes of the compendium are:

  • (a) To contribute to increased recognition of   the achievement of African Women Professionals and increase their visibility;
  • (b) to contribute to bridging the information gap about African Women Professionals and
  • (c) To identify high caliber African women professionals (AWPs) who could be selected for a wide spectrum of executive positions internationally and regionally.

 The names of selected AWPs will be compiled in a compendium that profiles their professional competencies, academic credentials, work experiences and core values.   A copy of academic credentials and any other supporting document should be sent along with a short Curriculum Vitae (C.V). The submission should highlight: competencies, achievements, special appointments,  area of expertise, awards, core value that the individual identifies with and publications. A most recent passport photo would also be desirable.

AWPs, who believe they meet the criteria and would like to be included in the compendium should submit CVs in English or French. They should include full address including email, mobile and landline phone ) and sent to UNFPA for the attention of tsegera@unfpa.org copy  to debritu@unfpa.org, leilab@africa-union.org,  emebeth@africa-union.org and fiorellap@africa-union.org.
