 General Information:

The University is located at the capital, Cairo. The number of under graduate students has reached more than 100,000 with about 30,000 graduate students. The teaching staff has reached 3700 members, assisted by 2500 demonstrators assistant lecturers. There are sixteen faculties under the University and there are thirteen research centers. Department in focus

The soil Department is in the faculity of Agriculture, as other departments, offers B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degree in "soil sciences" . In the undergraduate level there is no course strongly related to Geoinformation. However there are some in the postgraduate level.

The core courses that are related with spatially referenced information are:

1. Interpretation of Aerial-photographes

2. Remotesensing in Agriculture

General conditions

B.Sc. of soil sciences (with a minimum of "very good" in the subject of specialization, i.e. the major field for the degree of M.Sc. while for the degree of Ph.D., the student must have a final grade of "very good" in M.Sc. courses.

1500 pound per year for M.Sc. degree

2500 pound per year Ph.D. degree
