The theme for the 2013 event is “Africa’s Structural Transformation”. Mr. Lopes will be speaking on ‘Infrastructure and Regional Integration for Africa’s structural Transformation’. The gathering will review the Bank’s 2012 operations and its 2013 development funding portfolio, as well as challenges facing the African region in key areas such as climate change, infrastructure, private sector and governance.

4th Global review of Aid for Trade

Mr. Lopes will moderate a session on ‘Aid For Trade, Value Chains And Intra-Afarican Trade’. The aim of this 4th review is to examine strategies to connect developing countries and LDC firms to international value chains, how to move up the value chain and discuss the associated development benefits in the context of the debate about post 2015 development agenda.
