Internet for Economic Development Initiative

The Internet for Economic Development Initiative, a program of the US Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs Communications and Information Policy (EB/CIP), promotes expanded and improved communications and information services globally by encouraging the worldwide adoption of telecommunications and information policies that support competition, and by negotiating arrangements that aid the U.S. telecommunications businesses. This initiative, which is coordinated by the Office of International Communications Policy (EB/CIP/BA) of the Department of State, seeks to empower developing countries to use the Internet to energize their economies, gain access to knowledge that can improve standards of living, and foster the free flow of ideas.

National Science and Technology Council

DOT Small Business Innovation Research

DOT Small Business Innovation Research
(SBIR) was established to stimulate technological innovation and utilize small business to meet federal research and development needs, encourage participation by minority and disadvantaged businesses in technological innovation, and increase private sector commercialization of innovations derived from federal R&D. The SBIR Program Office at the Volpe Center directs all activities required under the SBIR law and executes the policy established by the Small Business Administration.
