Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) is a U.S.
Department of Agriculture-funded initiative that works to increase
knowledge about -- and help farmers and ranchers adopt -- practices

Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) is the communications
and outreach arm of the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education
(SARE) program. SAN is dedicated to the exchange of scientific and
practical information on sustainable agriculture systems using a variety
of printed and electronic communications tools.

(FAS) has the primary responsibility for the U.S. Department of Agriculture's

by mobilizing expertise for agriculturally led economic growth.

to authorize timely initiatives to prevent famine outbreaks.

LearnLink is a project of the U.S. Agency for International Development
(USAID) that is operated by the Academy for Educational Development
(AED). LearnLink helps to bridge the digital divide in Africa by working
with NGOs in Ghana and Benin, and with Ministry of Education teacher
training institutions in Morocco, Namibia and Uganda, to help develop
African models for greater participation in the global knowledge society
and economy.

The Office of Technology Assessment
provided congressional committees with analyses of emerging, difficult,
and often highly technical issues. Services included major assessment
reports, background papers, briefings, and testimony. OTA explored
complex issues involving science and technology, helped Congress identify
policy options, and provided foresight about new developments that
could have important implications for future federal policy. The
OTA is closed in 1995. Below are two sites that archive its documents.
