Launch of the new ACGD Internet site : www.uneca.org/acgd

Anxious to further-strengthen its information outreach so as to give more impact to the activities it is undertaking for the advancement of African women, in compliance with the Dakar and Beijing Platforms for Action, the African Center for Gender & Development (ACGD) is pleased to launch its new Web site.

We cordially invite you to visit the site so as to learn more about ACGD priorities and the activities in which it is involved. This, we hope, will also allow you a better understanding of gender issues in general, and the challenges of achieving gender equity in Africa in particular. Our new web site will also give you a sharpened focus on the 12 areas singled out in the Dakar and Beijing's Platforms for Action as being critical to women's empowerment.

The site offers you a range of full text documents, namely ACGD policy documents, press releases, statutory and evaluation reports, as well as the Center's publications. Later on, additional documents will be available, as well as relevant data on various gender issues and concerns.

Launched in English, the site will also offer you a French version that will be available soon ( Monday 24 february 2003)

Among its features, the website contains a search engine to help you identify all the documents it includes, as well as a feed back form for the users.

Your inquiries, commentaries and suggestions are most welcome. Please contact us at acgd@uneca.org

Sincerely yours
ACGD team.
