A five day long capacity building training for Ethiopian women media professionals was conducted at the Information Technology Centre for Africa (ITCA) from August 27 – 31, 2007.
The training included discussions on Internet services and tools used for searching the internet for different types of content (text, audio, picture and video), familiarize participants with advanced search techniques and features, an extensive hands-on training on web page development and blogging. The trainers were encouraged to develop a web-site that contains text, graphics, audio and video.
The trainees were provided with supporting materials and documents that would help them enhance the skills they acquired during the training and help them exercise by their own.
Fifteen members of the Ethiopian Media Women Association (EMWA) benefited from this course. A similar training was also provided for EMWA members from September 6-14 in 2004.
The training was organized by ITCA/ISTD as a result of a request from the Ethiopian Media Women Association and was supported by the Africa Node of the Global ePolicy Resource Network (ePol-NET) and the Government of Japan. |
