CODI-V The Fifth Session of the Committee on Development Information
29 April - 4 May 2007, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

ISTD is the main organizer of the exhibition on the CODI V event . It has organized an exhibition to which attracted 14 exhibitors that participated on the exhibition. For this particular event, posters, multimedia, a CODI information resource CD that holds most of the conference materials and resources as well as previous CODI resources was prepared to be delivered to participants. Other deliverables include the calendars on the activities of AISI – ITCA and AISI – VarsityNet initiatives and AISI briefing series booklets.

A joint ECA -African Union (AU) exhibition with the technical support of the ECA , was held from 25-30 January, 2007 at the United Nations Conference Centre (UNCC), Addis Ababa . ADF V Infrormation Resource Portal

Information Resources on Youth Development in Africa portal launched
A portal designed along with the theme of ADF V: "Youth and Leadership in the 21st Century" and to serve as an entry point to articles, documents and links that deal with youth development in the African continent and the Diaspora is launched. This portal hosts a list of links of institutions and initiatives that focus on the youth in the region. For more click here.

ITCA Launches African eLearning Initiative (October 2006)
ITCA has launched an online learning management that would facilitate the training of African policy makers and other stakeholders on the role of ICTs for socio-economic development and need and process of national and sectoral ICT policies and e-strategies. For more click here.
Training support for Implementation of Asycuda Implementation of ASYCUDA Project
ITCA staff will assist the Ethiopian Customs Authority with a major renovation of their automated systems by providing training on a number of software and hardware applications including A+, CISCO, Linux, Windows 2003, Oracle, MS SQL Server and Web Development tools such as Dreamweaver. Focusing on application development and network management, a number of trainees selected from various cities across Ethiopia and Djibouti will receive the training. Canada Fund for Africa Exhibition The Canada Fund for Africa Exhibit, Addis Sheraton, 6 – 8 June, 2005
ITCA staff, in conjuction with the ECA Communication Team, arranged an ECA exhibit for the Canada Fund for Africa Event. Although the event ran from 6 – 8 June, 2005 at the Addis Sheraton Hotel, the ECA exhibit was only operational for the Networking Bazaart held on the 6th of June. During this time, ITCA and CommTeam staff were able to engage and attract visitors to the exhibit where a number on interactions were used to provide detailed information describing key activities that have resulted from ECA’s partnership with the government of Canada. Training of Ethiopian Parliamentarians Training of Ethiopian Parliamentarians 
Thirty six Ethiopian Members of Parliament graduated on Thursday, 28th August after a 3-month ECA-sponsored intensive training on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) with specific reference to e-strategies for development. The training was offered to the MPs as an effort to build the capacity of African stakeholders, which is one of the key missions underscored by the outreach programme of ECA's African Information Society Initiative (AISI).

An ITCA and Cisco Systems Inc. organized training of Cisco Networking Academy instructors was held from 16, April to 2, May 2001. This training of trainers was attended by 17 instructors from five African countries: Kenya, Ethiopia, Gambia, Mozambique, and Swaziland.

Following requests from several African Ambassadors based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia,ITCA has organized an introductory workshop on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) issues and Internet use for benefit of African Ambassadors. The workshop has taken place from June 8, 2001 to June 29, 2001 for four weeks.

In partnership with Cisco Systems Inc. and InfoDev of the World Bank, ITCA has launched a training course for African women in Internet networking technology.The training course will follow the established curriculum of the Cisco Networking Academy Program. The course organized for Anglophone Africancountries was provided from August 2001 to February 2002 and the course for the Francophone African countries was conducted from July 2002 to December 2002. ITCA has trained and graduated a total of 80 Ethiopian MPs in two rounds as part of the ICT awareness workshops series for African Parliamentarians.

Telemedicine for Ethiopia

ITCA has made available its technical expertise and training facilities for a two-week telemedicine training programme in which more than 20 Ethiopian medical doctors from 10 hospitals in Addis Ababa and regional towns participated. more

Ethiopian Women Media Association

ITCA has provided a comprehensive training program on web based journalism and information society issues for 13 members of the Ethiopian Women Media Association. more

eCommerce Training

ITCA has conducted training on e-commerce for 12 participants from Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce, Ministry of Trade and Industry, and Trade and Industry Bureau of Nefas Silk Lafto sub city Administration. more
