Training Support to Ethiopian Customs Authority (ECuA) on the ASYCUDA++ System: Implementation and Sustainability
:: What is ASYCUDA?
ASYCUDA is a computerized management system. The system handles manifest, customs declarations, accounting procedures, and transit and suspense procedures. It also generates trade data that can be used for statistical economic analysis and provides Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) between traders and Customs.
ITCA staff will assist the Ethiopian Customs Authority (ECuA)with a major renovation of their automated systems by providing training on a number of software and hardware applications including A+, CISCO, Linux, Windows 2003, Oracle, MS SQL Server and Web Development tools such as Dreamweaver. Focusing on application development and network management, a number of trainees selected from various cities across Ethiopia and Djibouti will receive the training which will help ECuA to migrate to the upgraded ASYCUDA platform.. Phase II of A+ and Network +Training entering Second Half
The second group of trainees from the Ethiopian Customs office has completed the A+ portion and started the Network + phase of the training. Still led by Sultan Mohammed, the trainees are appreciating the time spent in the labs and the hands on examples Sultan is providing.
Phase I of A+ and Network + Training Completed
IT Staffer Sultan Mohammed wraps up the first phase of the A+ and Network+ training. A second phase, with an entirely new group of trainees from various Ethiopian Customs offices, has already started. A total of 9 trainees finished the first phase.
