Exhibition
at the Fourth African Development Forum (ADF IV)
:: About The Exhibit
ADF IV was organized
under the theme, “Governance for a Progressive Africa”
in partnership with the African Union and the African Development
Bank, from 11 to 15 October 2004 in Addis Ababa. Recognizing
the importance of good governance in economic and sustainable
development, the Forum presented a unique opportunity for
all the participants to gain an in-depth knowledge of the
dimensions of good governance and key challenges with a view
to generating realistic strategies for good governance practices.
The Forumwas opened
by Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Mr. Meles Zenawi, and attended
by a lot of high level personalities including the President
of the Pan-African Parliament, Ms. Gertrude Mongella, various
ministers and government officials, together with traditional
rulers, such as the His Royal Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II,
Asantehene of the Ashanti people of Ghana and His Majesty
Kgosi Leruo T. Molotlegi, King of the Royal Bafokeng Kingdom
in South Africa.
Our exhibition
organized during the Forum has benefited a lot from the high
level attendance. Its conntent has given a special focus on
e-government and was visited by over 2000 visitors from academia,
media, private sector, parliament, civil society, youth and
government.
The exhibition
stand displayed several posters, documents and resource CD-ROMs.
In addition, a touch screen kiosk on land administration in
the Amharic language and a big display screen were set up,
dedicated to presenting several interactive multimedia presentations.
Pop-up banners announcing the launching of the book entitled
" Africa Networking: Development Information, ICTs and
Governance" and ITCA's Virtual Academy (vLAC) were on
display.
Several
documents were distributed at our exhibition stand, which
include the AISI Briefing Papers and ITCA brochures, as well
as other AISI/NICI related documents.
