It was founded in 1984 and is dedicated to monitoring federal policy to ensure improved care and services, robust medical research, and effective AIDS prevention. Its Web site is very contemporary, with an MTV sponsorship, and it features the latest news. Because AIDS Action is an advocacy organization, its site features sections on politics and policy including a Capitol Hill section and a report on politicians' views and votes on AIDS action.
American Foundation for AIDS Research : http://www.amfar.org/ AmFAR is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the support of HIV/AIDS research. Its Web site features the Daily HIV/AIDS News. Other information on the Web site includes press releases, AmFAR program descriptions, upcoming conferences, grant information, and publications. The Web site will soon feature an online treatment directory with searchable database.

Topics include worldwide statistics on HIV/AIDS, the history of HIV/AIDS, homosexuality, prevention and treatment, and healthcare.
CDC National Prevention Information Network http://www.cdcnpin.org/ The CDC's National Prevention Information Network (NPIN) is featured on many other HIV/AIDS Web sites and is a resource for news from the CDC. Its Prevention News Update is released every weekday and summarizes scientific and media reports on HIV/AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, and tuberculosis. The NPIN also features access to searchable databases, including news and updates, educational materials, and a conference calendar.

It is a well-designed site for physicians, scientists, and healthcare professionals. Its HIV/AIDS section focuses on managed care and its managed care network for the HIV/AIDS population. It also features updates on congressional activities concerning HIV/AIDS. The rest of the site is devoted to its members, including sections on career development and employment, practice guidelines, training, conferences, and networks.
International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care http://www.iapac.org/ The International Association of Physicians in AIDS Care's (IAPAC) Web site and the IAPAC Internet Communications Network are geared toward members, physicians, healthcare professionals, and interested consumers. The Web site opens on news from around the world regarding HIV/AIDS. From the opening page, users can access IAPAC conferences, professional information (under Sciences), public policy issues, prevention, and human rights information. The HIV/AIDS section focuses on diagnostics, disease management, and clinical practice issues. International Clinical Epidemiology Network http://www.inclen.org INCLEN is a site promoted by indigenous health scientists and clinicians that who envision a network of regional networks, addressing health needs of clinical importance at the national, regional, and global levels. The Network's dual emphases on capacity building and research are mutually reinforcing and much needed. Its Web site is geared toward providing members and potential members with more information on its medical centers, committees, proposals, research, and membership activities.

Its program focuses on epidemiology, pathogenesis, therapeutics, vaccines, behavioral and social science, training, and dissemination of information. National Pediatric AIDS Network http://www.npan.org/ This nonprofit organization is a resource for information on children and adolescents with HIV/AIDS. In conjunction with the Boulder County AIDS Project of Boulder, Colorado, NPAN works collaboratively with other HIV/AIDS information providers.
