 Exhibition The African Network for Drugs and Diagnostics Innovation (ANDI) Meeting
ITCA has organized an exhibition, which run in parallel with the conference and provided more than 15 corporations and other organizations with the opportunity to showcase their goods or services related to the activities of ANDI. |
 Exhibition at the Launch of the Global Geospatial Information Management (GGIM)
ITCA has organized an exhibition, that run in parallel with the meeting featuring more than 30 international and local companies, organizations and government offices specializing in a variety of services. The exhibition provided participants and exhibitors with an excellent opportunity to network and exchange ideas regarding the promotion of geospatial Science and technology in Africa. |
 Capacity Building on Network and Information Security for the Office of the Vice President of the Republic of Gambia
Based on a request received by ECA from the Office of the Vice President of the Republic of the Gambia for assistance in building the capacity of the staff of the Office and its sub-sectors, the ICT and Science and Technology Division organized a training workshop on “Network and Information Security” held from 13-16 June 2011. |
Exhibition at the CODIST-II Event
CODIST-II held from 2-5 May 2011 brought together Member States delegates in the field of the ICT, Science, Technology and Innovation (STI), Geo-Information as well as Libraries and Information Services and other experts to explore the extent to which African countries have harnessed innovation to enhance industrial development on the continent, and to advise the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) in these areas. |
 Internet Governance Training Workshop
ITCA, in collaboration with the Diplo Foundation, has organized a training workshop on e-Diplomacy; Internet Governance (IG) issues and information and communication technology (ICT) policies in national, regional and international processes. |

ECA Exhibition @ eLearning Africa 2008 Conference, Accra, Ghana
ISTD has setup an exhibition on the 3rd International Conference on ICT for Development,
Education and Training event that took place from May 28 – 30, 2008 in the Accra International
Conference Centre, Ghana. The exhibition stand was used to display posters that show ICT for
development, status of NICI activities in ECA supported member States, various projects run in

ISTD Exhibition on the Science with Africa Conference

ECA awarded Certificate of Excellent Particpation on ASYCUDA++ Implementation
The Economic Commission for Africa is awarded a certificate of Excellent Participation on Implementation of ASYCUDA ++ by the Ethiopian Customs Authority for its efforts on providing a range of courses for customs officials that would help support the ASYCUDA++ implementation.

CODI-V The Fifth Session of the Committee on Development Information
29 April - 4 May 2007, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
ISTD is the main organizer of the exhibition on the CODI V event . It has organized an exhibition to which attracted 14 exhibitors that participated on the exhibition. For this particular event, posters, multimedia, a CODI information resource CD that holds most of the conference materials and resources as well as previous CODI resources was prepared to be delivered to participants. Other deliverables include the calendars on the activities of AISI – ITCA and AISI – VarsityNet initiatives and AISI briefing series booklets.

Information Resources on Youth Development in Africa portal launched
A portal designed along with the theme of ADF V: "Youth and Leadership in the 21st Century" and to serve as an entry point to articles, documents and links that deal with youth development in the African continent and the Diaspora is launched. This portal hosts a list of links of institutions and initiatives that focus on the youth in the region.
The web portal development is supported by the Africa Node of the Global ePolicy Resource Network (ePol-NET) and Canadian e-Policy Resource Centre (CePRC).

Implementation of ASYCUDA Project
ITCA staff will assist the Ethiopian Customs Authority with a major renovation of their automated systems by providing training on a number of software and hardware applications including A+, CISCO, Linux, Windows 2003, Oracle, MS SQL Server and Web Development tools such as Dreamweaver. Focusing on application development and network management, a number of trainees selected from various cities across Ethiopia and Djibouti will receive the training. The Canada Fund for Africa Exhibit, Addis Sheraton, 6 – 8 June, 2005
ITCA staff, in conjuction with the ECA Communication Team, arranged an ECA exhibit for the Canada Fund for Africa Event. Although the event ran from 6 – 8 June, 2005 at the Addis Sheraton Hotel, the ECA exhibit was only operational for the Networking Bazaart held on the 6th of June. During this time, ITCA and CommTeam staff were able to engage and attract visitors to the exhibit where a number on interactions were used to provide detailed information describing key activities that have resulted from ECA’s partnership with the government of Canada. Training of Ethiopian Parliamentarians
Thirty six Ethiopian Members of Parliament graduated on Thursday, 28th August after a 3-month ECA-sponsored intensive training on Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) with specific reference to e-strategies for development. The training was offered to the MPs as an effort to build the capacity of African stakeholders, which is one of the key missions underscored by the outreach programme of ECA's African Information Society Initiative (AISI). |
