Country Profiles Launch

Time: 12:30 -14:30

Venue: King Fahd Hotel, BC12

Following the successful launch of the first twenty ECA Country Profiles in 2016, the second generation of this flagship knowledge product will be launched during the 2017 Conference of Ministers.

The Country Profiles offer an independent narrative of Africa’s economic and social development snapshot and prospects, provide assessments focusing on policy analysis, and countries’ move towards regional integration and socio-economic transformation. ECA Country Profiles also identify policy challenges faced by the surveyed countries and provide recommendations to decision-makers, national and regional institutions to address those challenges.

Twenty-one countries will be featured in the March 2017 launch: Algeria, Angola, Burundi, Cabo Verde, Chad, Central African Republic, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, the Gambia, Ghana, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nigeria, Somalia, South Africa, Swaziland and Tunisia.

Following the launch of the ECA Country Profiles, a discussion will be held on the conceptual framework of the future Country Profiles.

The event is open to all delegates and to the media.
