The content of the biennial programme plan for 2010-2011 translates the determination of the United Nations system to accompany the New Partnership. It includes the nature and scope of the support to NEPAD that the United Nations and related programmes and specialized agencies are expected to provide for the period. The programme plan which is structured in three sub-programmes, assigns to ECA an important role to play in the United Nations System support to NEPAD:
Sub-programme 1 : OSAA: Coordination of global advocacy of and support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development, under the responsibility of the Office of Special Adviser on Africa. http://www.un.org/africa/osaa/
Sub-Programme 2: ECA: Regional coordination of and support for the New Partnership for Africa's Development, under the responsibility of a special coordinating unit in the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). http://www.uneca.org
Sub-Programme 3: DPI: Public information and awareness activities in support of the New Partnership for Africa's Development, under the responsibility of the Africa section in the Department of Public Information.
