Description of Requirement:

The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) in Addis Ababa , Ethiopia will be issuing a solicitation for the above subject requirement. In this connection, the UNECA hereby seeks to qualify experienced and potential firms with capacity to provide and carry out the above mentioned services to a short list of companies.

Interested bidders may collect the Request for Proposal (RFP) from the Economic Commission for Africa, Room no. 2S13 of its Secretariat building in the UN compound in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, between 09:00 to 13:00 hours or 14:30 to 17:00 hours on Mondays through Fridays or request by email to the above address between the dates 26 September 2008 and 20 October 2008.

The required tasks to be accomplished may include, but is not limited to the provision of the following:

•  Understanding of ECA's business objectives at a high level and the ICT functional requirements to meet the objectives;

•  Understanding the current landscape of ICT infrastructure in ECA, systems and services of ITSS

•  Understanding the business objectives of ECA's organizational and functional units and their ICT resources requirements, as well as their inter-linkages with each other and with ECA's ICT infrastructure;

•  Understanding the current suite of systems, infrastructure applications and services, including those maintained by organizational/functional units other than ITSS;

•  Understanding planned ICT projects and initiatives at ECA;

•  Understanding changing business scenarios as well as imperative and initiatives that would impact on ECA's ICT infrastructure, systems and services;

•  Prepare and submit a report containing the business processes and their application requirements with detailed technical requirements for ICT Systems, infrastructure, applications and services.
