Description of requirements:

UNECA hereby seeks interested Companies with valid license to review the functionality of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) installations at the United Nations Conference Center (UNCC) for a maximum period of four (4) working days and carry out the following:

•  Study the existing equipment and advise on feasibility of implementing a Demand-Controlled Ventilation (DCV) in the UNCC. This includes provision of technical specifications of appropriate air sensors, installation of air recovery units, determining levels of air re-circulations, taking stock of various Electromechanical Air Handling Units (AHU's) and respective fan coils Variable Air Volume Units (VAV) and Constant Air Volume Units (CAV) that may provide energy saving;

•  Identify appropriate air sensor and variable frequency drive controls that will match with the existing installation and equipment;

•  Provide a zero draft design on implementing DCV and providing the energy-savings figure and payback period for this cause.

Please note that the UNECA is precluded from entering into contract with firms that are not fully registered with UNECA. Summary of Minimum Requirements

  • At least 8 (eight) years of past experience in implementing DCV for institutions with AHU that has cooling loads of over 1500KW, catering over 20 AHU and 200 fan coil units. Please attach evidence of client satisfaction on a proven performance of similar work or provide names, addresses, and telephone numbers of companies/organizations to which you carried out similar type of work.
  • Relevant experience of the Engineer to undertake the study with a minimum requirement of first degree in engineering with at least 8 (eight) years of hands-on experience in HVAC.
  • Delivery period for the requested conceptual design (3 – 4 weeks).
