Request for Expression of Interest Subject: Service contract to undertake a preliminary study on appropriate measures of cutting down energy cost in the UN Conference Facility Date of this EOI: 30 October 2008 Closing date of receipt of EOI: 14 November 2008 Reference No.: RFP/FMS/08-011 Address EOI by fax for the attention of: Mr. Ali Todaro, Officer-in-Charge, UNECA hereby seeks interested Companies with valid license to review the functionality of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) installations at the United Nations Conference Center (UNCC) for a maximum period of four (4) working days and carry out the following: Study the existing equipment and advise on feasibility of implementing a Demand-Controlled Ventilation (DCV) in the UNCC. This includes provision of technical specifications of appropriate air sensors, installation of air recovery units, determining levels of air re-circulations, taking stock of various Electromechanical Air Handling Units (AHU's) and respective fan coils Variable Air Volume Units (VAV) and Constant Air Volume Units (CAV) that may provide energy saving; Identify appropriate air sensor and variable frequency drive controls that will match with the existing installation and equipment; Provide a zero draft design on implementing DCV and providing the energy-savings figure and payback period for this cause. Please note that the UNECA is precluded from entering into contract with firms that are not fully registered with UNECA.
