The annual meetings of the Regional Coordination Mechanism for Africa (RCM-Africa), provide a platform to discuss ways of strengthening the partnership between the United Nations (UN) system and the African Union (AU) by reviewing progress made in improving cooperation, collaboration and coordination between the UN and AU organizations and by charting the way forward for more effective implementation of programmes for the development of the continent of Africa. They also provide opportunities to discuss topical and emerging issues impacting or having the potential to impact on Africa’s development aspirations. The eleventh session of RCM-Africa was held in November 2010.
