Facilities within the UNCC-AA

The first floor of the UNCC-AA is mainly composed of the conference rooms, caucus rooms, briefing rooms and the offices of the CCU. The Centre offers the following meeting facilities.

Conference Room 1: Large conference hall with gallery; capacity 800, with 7 language simultaneous interpretation facility including floor language and the latest technology for multi-media presentations

Conference room 2: Medium conference hall with gallery; capacity 474, with 7 language simultaneous interpretation facility including floor language

Conference rooms 3, 4, 5 & 6: Smaller conference halls; capacity 115 each, with 4 language simultaneous interpretation facility including floor language

9 Caucus rooms: usually used as breakout rooms and small meetings, capacity 20 - 40, caucus rooms 2, 3, 5 & 6 are located on the first floor whereas 7 - 11 are located on the second floor

1 suite meeting room: located on the west wing of the Centre, behind Conference Room 1, this room can accommodate 10 people.

2 briefing rooms:

- Large Briefing Room: U shaped style, capacity 60

- Small Briefing Room: classroom style, capacity 44

Business Centre: A fully equipped Business Centre provides access to international telephone and fax services, photocopying, computer workstations and internet use at set charges to users.

Offices: 2 offices behind Conference Room 2 equipped with 3 computers and 1 shared printer each

VIP lounge and offices: located on the west wing of the Centre, behind Conference Room 1

Food and Beverages

Apart from the coffee shop and cafeteria in the UNCC-AA catered by the Sheraton Hotel, Canapé has a self-service restaurant and a coffee bar with price per item at the Nigeria Lounge. Hilton Hotel also has a pastry shop on the ground floor and a coffee bar on the first floor of the Rotunda on the premises of ECA.

Banking Service

There is a branch of the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia located at the Rotunda. Opening hours:

Monday to Thursday 8:00 to 12:30 hours 14:00 to 16:00 hours

Friday 8:00 to 11:30 hours 14:00 to 16:00 hours

Foreign exchange is available at the ECA branch as well as the Sheraton Hotel and the Hilton Hotel branches.

NB: No credit Card and Automated Teller Machine (ATM) services are available at the Bank.

Transportation

Apart from transfers between hotels and ECA/UNCC for meeting participants arranged by organizers, the following means of transport are available:

- or hail a taxi (yellow or blue cab) outside the ECA or Hotel. The fare to most destinations within Addis Ababa approximates 20 to 30 birr. Taxis can be hired at a negotiated by the hour for roundtrips or more distant destinations.
