The Land Policy Initiative (LPI) in partnership with the Government of Madagascar will hold a workshop and a series of meetings from 30th of August to 1st September 2017 in support of land governance and agricultural transformation in Madagascar.
These events comprise consultations with ministers and senior leadership in the land and agricultural sectors on 30th of August; a workshop to validate the Country Report on Mainstreaming Land Governance in the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) on 31st August and launch of the Pilot Project on Monitoring and Evaluation for Land Governance (MELA) on 1st September 2017.
These projects are part of cross country pilots being implemented by the LPI to facilitate the implementation of the AU Agenda on land and the CAADP agenda. They are being executed by the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development; the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, including the CAADP secretariat. The projects are supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD); the European Union (EU); International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ).
