The Arab Maghreb union (UMA) is main intergovernmental body dedicated to cooperation and regional integration in North Africa. As such, it is expected to play a key role in the implementation and follow up of Agenda 2063 and Agenda 2030, including by facilitating their integration into member countries’ development strategies.

The fourth meeting of the SRCM-North Africa, scheduled on 1-2 March 2018, aims to strengthen partnerships and synergies between the UMA, UN Agencies and other regional organizations and development partners supporting the implementation and follow up of SDGs in North Africa, within the frameworks provided by Agenda 2030 and Agenda 2063.

The goals of this meeting include achieving a common understanding of regional priorities and challenges related to SDG implementation in North Africa in order to better target and coordinate the action of partners within the sub region. Participants will define the outlines of a regional roadmap (2018-2019) for the implementation of SDGs in North Africa.
