  2. National Consultative Forum on the Development of Botswana’s National AfCFTA Implementation Strategy

The Ministry of Trade and Entrepreneurship (Botswana), in collaboration with the African Trade Policy Centre (ATPC) and the Sub-Regional Office for Southern Africa (ECA SRO-SA) of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), will host a one-day National Consultative Forum on the Development of AfCFTA National Implementation Strategy for Botswana on 6 March 2025 at Travelodge, Gaborone, Botswana.

The Forum will consult national stakeholders drawn from government, private sector, civil society organizations, academia and media for their views and recommendations to inform the drafting of Botswana’s National AfCFTA Implementation Strategy and Action Plan.

The Forum aims to:

  • Raise awareness among stakeholders about the AfCFTA, its opportunities, and its implications for Botswana’s economy.
  • Define stakeholder roles in the effective implementation of the AfCFTA in Botswana through the National Implementation Strategy.
  • Gather stakeholder feedback to shape a comprehensive and inclusive AfCFTA Strategy.
