The Government of Namibia, in collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), will host the 2026 Joint Session of the Intergovernmental Committee of Senior Officials and Experts (ICSOE) for Eastern and Southern Africa from 10 to 13 November 2026 in a hybrid format.
Convened under the theme, “Bridging Eastern and Southern Africa: Connectivity, Trade and Investment for a More Integrated Continent,” the meeting will bring together policymakers, experts, development partners, and regional stakeholders to discuss strategies for advancing regional integration, trade, investment, and infrastructure development.
As a key subsidiary body of ECA, the ICSOE provides guidance on the work programmes of ECA’s Subregional Offices while addressing the development priorities of member States. The statutory segment will take place on 10 and 13 November, while 11-12 November will feature expert discussions on strategic issues critical to the economic transformation and integration of Eastern and Southern Africa.
