Background
Progress toward sustainable development remains under pressure as the world continues to face profound uncertainty and interconnected crises. Research indicates that only 35 per cent of SDG targets with available trend data are on track or showing moderate progress. Nearly half are progressing too slowly, while 18 per cent have regressed1. This shortfall underscores the urgent need for renewed commitment and coordinated action to accelerate sustainable development.
The SDG Acceleration Actions is a global mechanism for scaling up efforts, fostering collaboration and driving measurable progress toward sustainable development. The initiative aims to mobilize concrete, high-impact commitments from governments, civil society, the private sector and other stakeholders, driving collective action and encouraging work across SDG interlinkages.
Highlights
