To participate in the language courses offered, individuals must fall into one of the following categories:
ECA Staff Members and Their Legal Spouses

This includes staff of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) who hold temporary, fixed-term, continuing, or permanent appointments.

Their legal spouses are also eligible.
UN Secretariat Staff in Addis Ababa and Their Legal Spouses

Staff members of the United Nations Secretariat who are based in Addis Ababa.

Their legal spouses may also enroll.
Staff of UN Funds, Programmes, and Other International Organizations

Includes personnel from UN funds and programmes (e.g., UNDP, UNICEF) and other international organizations.

Their spouses are eligible if authorized by their respective organizations or offices.
Diplomatic Community and International NGOs

Members of the diplomatic community, permanent missions, and international non-governmental organizations (NGOs).

Their spouses are also eligible.
Retired UN Personnel

Former staff members who have retired from the UN Secretariat, Agencies, Funds, or Programmes.
