Breaking New Ground in Financing Recovery: Digital Finance in North Africa

Online, 18 April 2022 (ECA) – Digital finance underwent significant development in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis in North Africa, with experts now considering that it can play a significant role in post-pandemic economic recovery plans in North Africa.

The ECA dialogue on “Breaking New Ground in Financing Recovery: Digital Finance in North Africa” aims to identify key steps required to accelerate the development of this sector and strengthen its contribution to innovation, economic diversification and the structural transformation of North African economies.

This webinar will be an opportunity for experts to discuss solutions to reduce the digital divide and strengthen the digital culture, upscale the digital and offshoring sectors, develop digital payment system infrastructures and build favourable regulatory and technical frameworks to foster their development. 

The ECA Dialogues are a series of webinars and conferences organized by the Economic Commission for Africa in preparation for the 2022 Conference of Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (COM 2022) taking place in Dakar (Senegal) on 11 – 17 May 2022 under the theme Financing Africa’s recovery: breaking new ground” (Click here for more information).
