The Africa Sustainable Development Report (ASDR) is an annual publication that monitors the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union’s Agenda 2063. Jointly prepared by the African Development Bank, African Union, UNDP, and ECA, the 2025 edition is the eighth in the series and incorporates feedback from an expert group meeting held in Addis Ababa in April 2025. The report’s focus is determined by the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) reviewed at the High-Level Political Forum, and for 2025, it analyzes progress on SDGs 3, 5, 8, 14, and 17, alongside related Agenda 2063 goals. The ASDR provides analysis of targets and indicators for both frameworks, while noting data limitations, and highlights how the African Development Bank’s “High 5s” complement the two Agendas in advancing Africa’s development.
