Launching Namibia’s National Strategy and Implementation Plan for African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)

The Namibian Ministry of Industrialization and Trade in collaboration with the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) are Launching Namibia’s National Strategy and Implementation Plan for African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on 21st November 2022 at Country Club Resort in Windhoek, Namibia.

The launch will provide an opportunity to Namibian stakeholders to appreciate the collective strategies towards extracting optimal benefits from the larger continental markets.

Following the launch, the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa in collaboration with the Ministry of Industrialization and Trade of the Republic of Namibia are jointly convening a workshop on 22 November 2022 at the same venue.

Objective of the Training

  • Raise awareness about the AfCFTA

  • Promote understanding of the benefits of the AfCFTA and how to benefit from it

  • Promote inclusive participation of women in the implementation of the AfCFTA

  • Ensure consultation on provisions to be included in the AfCFTA Women and Youth Protocol.
