The joint team of colleagues from GPSD, SPORD and KMSS wish to invite all staff to the online launch of Earth, Oceans and Skies: Insights from selected, outstanding African women scientists on 30th March 2022 in the context of the ongoing Expo 2020 Dubai at 12:00pm Dubai Time (GMT +4).
This publication is an important output of the ECA ‘Championing the Decade of Action’ initiative of the Under-Secretary General and Executive Secretary of the ECA, Dr. Vera Songwe. It features a snapshot of the incredible journeys of selected distinguished scientists and the regional and international excellence demonstrated on the Continent of Africa and across the globe.
The event is an effort to make their insights visible to the world and create awareness for more potent policies and funding models; visionary and strategic research agenda setting. We also aim to demonstrate return of investment in STI and demystifying science among the public, to build popular support.
While the publication is still undergoing a few last-minute updates, we ask you to bear with us. It will be uploaded on the website in advance of the launch as well as the event programme.
