Capacity building on STI policy and policy instruments for SDGs for African policymakers, 16 - 17 February 2023, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia: The IATT's Work Stream 6 (WS6) is responsible for STI for SDGs capacity building, designing, and delivering training courses and workshops on STI Policy for SDGs addressed to policymakers and key STI managers from developing countries. Since 2018, the WS6 regional trainings and webinars have benefited over 800 officials from over 90 countries.
The Fifth Africa Regional STI Forum, 26 – 27 February 2023, Niamey, Niger: focused on accelerating the development and diffusion of emerging technologies to build a green, inclusive, and resilient Africa. The STI Forum featured a Youth Innovation and Design Bootcamp for 354 participants and 52 mentors and trainers.
Workshop on Data Governance on the margins of Transform Africa Forum, 24 April, Victoria Falls: featured policymakers, regulators, private sector, civil society organizations, and parliamentarians working in the field of Data Governance and Digitalization. The workshop also gathered leaders from Data Privacy Authorities across Africa who shared experiences and challenges in setting up DPAs in Africa, from a legislative, financial, and human resources perspective.
